李有泉,男,1963年4月生,甘肃靖远人,九三社员。现任浙江大学理学院教授、博士生导师,物理系学术委员会主任。浙江省政协常委、浙江省科协常委,九三学社中央委员、九三学社浙江省委副主委。
教育及工作经历:
1983年毕业于兰州大学物理系,获学士学位。
1983年至1989年在兰州大学物理系攻读研究生,先后获硕士、博士学位。
1989年至1990年任烟台大学讲师。
1990年至1992年浙江大学博士后。
1992年起在浙江大学物理系工作,先后任副教授、教授、博士生导师。
1997年3月至1998年3月赴瑞士、美国学术访问。
1999年5月至2001年8月赴德国学术访问(洪堡学者)。
社会兼职:
1、中科院理论物理研究所客座。
2、意大利国际理论物理中心正规协联成员(Regular Associate)。
3、英国剑桥国际传记中心顾问。

主要研究强关联系统和介观体系物理的理论研究;量子场论对称性及其在凝聚态物理中的应用等。

——访国家自然科学奖二等奖获得者 长江特聘教授李有泉
走过浙大玉泉校区的邵逸夫科学馆,转一个弯就到了一座占地不大的两层小楼,小楼有些像北京的四合院,安安静静的,中间有个天井,种了些花草,这就是浙江近代物理中心。
这个小小的几乎占据了玉泉校区最高点的小楼里却是名人荟萃,教育部“长江学者”李有泉就是其中的一位。我们到的时候,被学生团团围住的李有泉从人丛中探出头来,客气地招呼着我们,原来刚刚得到国家自然科学二等奖这项崇高荣誉的李有泉昨天才从北京回来,上午给本科生上完量子力学,下午就被研究生们围住了。
强关联系统及介观体系物理方向,李有泉已经研究了多年,此次获奖的项目是“轨道简并强关联系统的SU(4)理论”,李有泉是主要完成者,这个听起来很拗口的名称着实难倒了来采访的新闻记者。谦逊的李有泉认真地解释了半天,也没能让大家听懂,他就不好意思了。其实对物理稍有关注的人都知道,对强关联电子系统的研究,多年来一直是凝聚态物理领域中富有挑战性的课题之一,李有泉他们项目组从当时与实验密切相关的理论模型入手,通过抓主要矛盾的方式简化次要因素,用非微扰方法和对称性分析方法加上必要的数值分析,深入研究了有轨道简并的系统。从而解决了用微扰方法和传统凝聚态物理方法很难处理的问题。这个创造性的理论发表在国际著名学术刊物上后,倍受业界人士关注。李有泉提出了轨道自由度有助于实现共振共价键自旋液体,指出它可以LiNiO2材料中得以实现。这个SU(4)对称性理论的发现不仅推进了国际上该领域的理论研究进程,而且对从事物理实验研究的学者有较大的启发。
从事纯理论研究的学者与做应用研究的学者有很大的不同,近代物理中心里没有一个真正意义上的实验室,这些理论物理学家的实验室就是他们发达的大脑,在需要数学推演的时候,李有泉还需要一支笔,几张纸,有时也会用计算机做些计算。谈到这个项目的创意,李有泉说,那是97年底,在美国访问时与合作者一起从不同角度的许多讨论和不断地深入研究后获得第一步重要突破的。 其实好的创意的基础在于平时的学术积累,李有泉解释,每天都有一些模型、一些图像、一些思路储存在大脑里,经过不断的数学推算、模型修正和图像完善,持之以恒,有时候就会产生“顿悟”获得飞跃性进展 。另外,与世界一流学者的接触和交流对保持高水平选题很重要。
一直以为李有泉是一个海归学者,一问才知道他还是个老浙大。1991年来到浙江近代物理中心做博士后,然后留校当老师,至今已有12年,当问到这里的工作条件时,他感叹到,浙江近代物理中心在十年前还是国内少有的硬件条件比较好的理论物理研究单位,十年来聚集了不少物理人才,为我国物理学科的发展作了很多贡献,现在中科院、清华大学、南京大学等科研院所与高校对物理研究越来越重视,硬件条件已大大超过了物理中心,言谈间流露出李有泉对近代物理中心的发展的殷切期望。 在国外做访问学者的时候,李有泉可以把几个月的时间“奢侈”地放在一个问题上,现在却有许多“重要”的事要分心,培养梯队、聘请外国专家等等,特别是很多表格之类在国外由教授的秘书可以作的事。这次采访中笔者就眼见李有泉为了为我们寻找并复印一页材料,化了十分钟时间。虽然工作状态上不去,但是这样的环境并没有难住李有泉,他已经在着手进一步的研究——强关联系统及介观体系物理研究。
除了带研究生与博士生,李有泉一周还有4节本科生的课程——《量子力学》,这是一门物理学科经典的课程之一,他坦言去上课的目的之一是想吸引更多的拔尖学生来研究物理。
离开时,我们看到李有泉办公室的小黑板上放着一盒水彩笔,原来这是李有泉他们每周六研究生例会时要用的,以前是写在黑板上,一擦就没了,后来他在国外作学术交流时学了一个好办法,每次讨论都拿大纸,用水彩笔画,写完一张就能留下来。而一个个新的理论创意就在这一张张的讨论纸的背后诞生了。
