现任江苏大学教授、博士生导师、化学系主任。

1. 先进能源与环境材料:主要研究各种氧化物、硫化物、石墨烯基纳米复合物、配位聚合物等纳米材料的控制合成和组装,研究材料的光电磁性质及其在锂离子电池、超级电容器、气体传感器、电化学催化、光催化等方面的应用。
2. 分子基功能材料:研究分子基磁性材料、多孔贮氢材料等各种新颖配合物的合成和晶体结构,研究材料的磁性和吸附-脱附性能,探讨材料结构与性质的构效关系。

科研成果:
1. 有关科研成果获2005年镇江市科技进步二等奖(排名第一)和镇江市第六、七、八和九届优秀科技论文一等奖。
2. 沈小平教授课题组成功制备了石墨烯与各种金属、合金、氧化物、硫化物、铁酸盐等的复合材料,研究了这类材料在吸附、催化、气体传感、锂离子电池等领域的应用。其中,他们采用简单的低温回流方法制备出了结构和形貌可控的石墨烯 (RGO) /Ni纳米复合材料,发现该复合材料对于对硝基苯酚(4-NP) 的还原反应具有优异的催化性能。他们首次合成了石墨烯负载的FeNi合金和NiCo合金纳米粒子。在合成RGO-FeNi复合物中,他们首次得到了FeNi合金纳米花,并发现石墨烯作为基底材料对于FeNi合金纳米花的形成起到了关键作用。通过定向流动自组装法,他们将该材料制备成磁性纸片,所得的复合材料显示软铁磁性,使其在磁性存储、生物分离、水处理和电磁波吸收等领域有潜在的应用价值。他们合成的RGO-NiCo复合物不仅具有铁磁性质,而且对4-NP的还原具有很好的催化活性,是一种可磁性分离的高效催化剂。他们同时发现了石墨烯对于催化活性和稳定性的促进作用,这使得RGO-NixCo100-x复合材料在催化方面具有潜在的应用价值。
3. 沈小平教授等人首次用一种通用的方法合成了基于石墨烯的各种铁酸盐(MnFe2O4,ZnFe2O4,CoFe2O4和 NiFe2O4)复合材料,首次将石墨烯复合材料的磁性,吸附性和光催化性三者结合于一体,将该复合材料设计成高吸附、高催化活性的可磁分离材料。他们发现吸附主要是石墨烯的作用,而光催化性和磁性主要是铁酸盐的贡献。石墨烯的高吸附活性以及MFe2O4纳米粒子的磁学和光催化性能使得该复合材料在环境领域有着潜在的应用。另外,通过微波法他们简便快速地合成了系列化的石墨烯-金属硫化物(ZnS,CdS,Ag2S和Cu2S)的纳米复合材料。该法基于同时生长金属硫化物纳米粒子和还原氧化石墨烯,从而在石墨烯上原位形成无积聚的金属硫化物纳米粒子;并研究了合成参数对硫化物纳米粒子在石墨烯上的尺寸、形貌和分布的影响,这在石墨烯负载的复合材料中尚未被研究。
4. 沈小平教授首次提出了一种通过长链伯胺的非共价键改性将GO从水相转移到各种有机溶剂中的简单而有效的方法,并实现了GO在水相和有机相之间的可逆转移。他们首次通过溶剂热法合成了基于皱褶石墨烯的复合材料——由Fe2O3纳米纺缍体和皱褶的石墨烯纳米片结合而成的新型RGO-Fe2O3纳米复合物。作为锂离子电池负极材料,该纳米复合物与单独的Fe2O3纳米纺缍体和单独RGO纳米片相比,电化学性能得到显著提高。与平整的RGO支撑的纳米复合物相比,皱褶的石墨烯可以对Fe2O3纳米纺缍体起到更多维数的限制,这对于Fe2O3在锂离子嵌入时的体积膨胀起到了更好的限制作用。该研究为基于皱褶的石墨烯材料的合成和应用开辟了新的领域。在此过程中,沈小平教授首次从实验上系统研究了不同皱褶程度的石墨烯材料,发现通过简单的改变溶剂中水、乙二醇的比例可以方便地调控石墨烯的皱褶程度,同时发现不同皱褶程度对于石墨烯的比表面积、吸附和催化性能具有重要的影响。
5. 沈小平教授在功能纳米材料的可控合成和性质应用方面的许多新发现,他成功开发出利用单源前驱体的模板基CVD法合成各种氧化物、硫化物和有机物的纳米管有序阵列的普适方法,同时在国内外首次对石墨烯无机纳米复合材料作了全面的述评。沈小平教授的研究成果受到了国际同行的关注,产生了良好的社会影响,目前已在Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Carbon, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, CrystEngComm, Nanotechnology等国际SCI源期刊发表学术论文150余篇,论文被SCI源期刊引用1600余次,10多篇论文入选ESI高被引论文。目前研究成果获授权国家发明专利9项。

长沙矿冶研究院-江苏大学电池材料技术发展研讨会成功举行
11月29-30日, “长沙矿冶研究院-江苏大学电池材料技术发展研讨会” 在江苏大学新材料研究院成功举行。中国五矿•长沙矿冶研究院有限责任公司(金瑞新材料科技股份有限公司)肖可颂总工程师、长沙矿冶研究院有限责任公司首席专家习小明教授及长远锂科胡柳泉总经理等一行10人、与江苏大学新材料研究院沈湘黔教授团队23人就锂电池材料的发展、机遇与挑战进行了广泛深入的交流。
首先,肖可颂总工介绍了中国五矿•长沙矿冶研究院电池产业十三五发展规划,表示长沙矿冶研究院将进一步加强与江苏大学的合作,在新的机遇面前发挥双方优势,尽快实现锂电池材料科技成果转化。随后,长远锂科胡柳泉总经理介绍了长远锂科发展现状及锂电正极材料市场前景,江苏大学沈小平教授、袁朝春教授分别作了“高性能锂电池负极材料的研究”、“新能源汽车发展现状及趋势分析”学术报告,双方研究人员还分别就日本第55届电池大会、全固态锂离子电池、超快速充放电电极材料、锂硫电池、富锂锰正极材料、材料模拟计算等进行了汇报交流。
最后,中国五矿科技部副部长卓晓军总结和充分肯定了公司与江苏大学新材料研究院沈湘黔教授团队开展的锂电池材料技术研发工作和成绩,表示公司将构建与江苏大学更加紧密的合作关系。

9月23日,在化学化工学院报告厅,江苏大学教授、博士生导师、化学系主任沈小平老师为化学化工学院全体研究生新生作了一场题为“科学道德和科研伦理”的讲座。
讲座中,沈小平老师旁征博引,列举了很多的例子让我们充分了解到做科研应该具有的科学道德和科研伦理。科研过程中应尊重实际,不能弄虚作假,杜绝抄袭行为。每位研究生同学都了解到应该通过自己的努力,把科研做到更好,把文章写得更好,把学业完成的更好。此外,还应该在科研过程中发挥自己的创新能力,多发散思维,这样才能在有更大的突破。

4月17日下午,化学化工学院在化工楼报告厅举行了江苏大学第十六届研究生学术论文大赛院级公开评审。化学化工学院的邱凤仙教授、贺敏强教授、沈小平教授和姜延顺教授担任本次大赛评委,研究生辅导员柳春华老师和参赛研究生出席了此次答辩评审会。
我院共收到有效参赛论文16篇。16位参赛者论文内容详实、信息量大、ppt制作精美,一致受到评委好评。经过每位选手的PPT三分钟陈述,评委给选手论文打分和现场打分,最终学院评出一等奖一名,二等奖三名,三等奖五名,鼓励奖七名。最终评审结果近期将在学院网站进行公示。
此次活动的组织极大的调动了广大研究生参与撰写学术论文的积极性,本次评审活动也进一步增强了研究生的学术交流,取得了预期的效果。

因为热爱化学,他专科毕业后锲而不舍,一边工作一边考研;因为倾心科研,他在艰苦条件下矢志不渝,一步一个脚印做研究;因为恪守职责,他在教学岗位上20多年春蚕吐丝诲人不倦,他就是江苏大学化学化工学院沈小平教授。
沈小平教授1992年硕士毕业于苏州大学物理化学专业,2005年博士毕业于南京大学无机化学专业,2008年至2009年在澳大利亚University of Wollongong作高级访问学者,现为江苏大学教授、博士生导师、化学系主任、民盟江苏大学委员会副主委。多年来,沈小平教授秉承“踏实做事,老实做人”的原则,默默耕耘在高校教学、科研的第一线。教学中兢兢业业,为国家培养了一批批优秀人才;科研中立足于先进功能材料的研究,在石墨烯等纳米材料的研究中取得了一系列重要进展。
“尽自己力量努力做事。”沈小平教授这样简单地概括自己的科研工作生涯,给人的印象却是真正的踏踏实实做学问、一心一意搞研究的学者风范。
立足前沿 沉下心来搞创新
长期以来,尽管教学工作繁忙,科研条件有限,但沈小平教授始终要求自己沉下心来,坚持科研工作不动摇。近年来,瞄准本领域国际国内的最新研究进展,他的研究工作一直处于国际前沿领域,先后主持和参与了国家自然科学基金项目六项、省部级科研项目3项、以及国家和省级重点实验室开放课题多项,在化学和材料学领域取得了多项研究进展。
一方面,沈小平教授课题组成功制备了石墨烯与各种金属、合金、氧化物、硫化物、铁酸盐等的复合材料,研究了这类材料在吸附、催化、气体传感、锂离子电池等领域的应用。其中,他们采用简单的低温回流方法制备出了结构和形貌可控的石墨烯 (RGO) /Ni纳米复合材料,发现该复合材料对于对硝基苯酚(4-NP) 的还原反应具有优异的催化性能。他们首次合成了石墨烯负载的FeNi合金和NiCo合金纳米粒子。在合成RGO-FeNi复合物中,他们首次得到了FeNi合金纳米花,并发现石墨烯作为基底材料对于FeNi合金纳米花的形成起到了关键作用。通过定向流动自组装法,他们将该材料制备成磁性纸片,所得的复合材料显示软铁磁性,使其在磁性存储、生物分离、水处理和电磁波吸收等领域有潜在的应用价值。他们合成的RGO-NiCo复合物不仅具有铁磁性质,而且对4-NP的还原具有很好的催化活性,是一种可磁性分离的高效催化剂。他们同时发现了石墨烯对于催化活性和稳定性的促进作用,这使得RGO-NixCo100-x复合材料在催化方面具有潜在的应用价值。
其次,沈小平教授等人首次用一种通用的方法合成了基于石墨烯的各种铁酸盐(MnFe2O4,ZnFe2O4,CoFe2O4和 NiFe2O4)复合材料,首次将石墨烯复合材料的磁性,吸附性和光催化性三者结合于一体,将该复合材料设计成高吸附、高催化活性的可磁分离材料。他们发现吸附主要是石墨烯的作用,而光催化性和磁性主要是铁酸盐的贡献。石墨烯的高吸附活性以及MFe2O4纳米粒子的磁学和光催化性能使得该复合材料在环境领域有着潜在的应用。另外,通过微波法他们简便快速地合成了系列化的石墨烯-金属硫化物(ZnS,CdS,Ag2S和Cu2S)的纳米复合材料。该法基于同时生长金属硫化物纳米粒子和还原氧化石墨烯,从而在石墨烯上原位形成无积聚的金属硫化物纳米粒子;并研究了合成参数对硫化物纳米粒子在石墨烯上的尺寸、形貌和分布的影响,这在石墨烯负载的复合材料中尚未被研究。
另外,沈小平教授首次提出了一种通过长链伯胺的非共价键改性将GO从水相转移到各种有机溶剂中的简单而有效的方法,并实现了GO在水相和有机相之间的可逆转移。他们首次通过溶剂热法合成了基于皱褶石墨烯的复合材料——由Fe2O3纳米纺缍体和皱褶的石墨烯纳米片结合而成的新型RGO-Fe2O3纳米复合物。作为锂离子电池负极材料,该纳米复合物与单独的Fe2O3纳米纺缍体和单独RGO纳米片相比,电化学性能得到显著提高。与平整的RGO支撑的纳米复合物相比,皱褶的石墨烯可以对Fe2O3纳米纺缍体起到更多维数的限制,这对于Fe2O3在锂离子嵌入时的体积膨胀起到了更好的限制作用。该研究为基于皱褶的石墨烯材料的合成和应用开辟了新的领域。在此过程中,沈小平教授首次从实验上系统研究了不同皱褶程度的石墨烯材料,发现通过简单的改变溶剂中水、乙二醇的比例可以方便地调控石墨烯的皱褶程度,同时发现不同皱褶程度对于石墨烯的比表面积、吸附和催化性能具有重要的影响。
天道酬勤 踏踏实实做学问
上述中我们看到,沈小平教授在功能纳米材料的可控合成和性质应用方面的许多新发现,他成功开发出利用单源前驱体的模板基CVD法合成各种氧化物、硫化物和有机物的纳米管有序阵列的普适方法,同时在国内外首次对石墨烯无机纳米复合材料作了全面的述评。沈小平教授的研究成果受到了国际同行的关注,产生了良好的社会影响,目前已在Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Carbon, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, CrystEngComm, Nanotechnology等国际SCI源期刊发表学术论文110余篇,论文被SCI源期刊引用1600余次,7篇论文入选ESI高被引论文。目前研究成果获授权国家发明专利9项。
采访中,沈小平教授谈到了他对科研工作的热爱和执著。正是充分认识到科研工作对人才培养和建立创新型国家的重要作用,多年来他克服资金、设备、人员等方面的种种困难,坚持不懈地搞科研。沈小平教授在科研工作中始终要求自己做到“恒心、定心、耐心”。“恒心”即持之以恒,几十年如一日,不断学习,提高自己的学术水平;“定心”即甘于坐冷板凳,不为外界各种诱惑所动,甘于寂寞,埋头苦干;“耐心”即科研工作不急于求成,不急功近利,踏踏实实做学问。多年来,沈小平教授为了科研和工作,基本没有节假日和寒暑假,放弃了大量的休息时间;也因为科研工作,经常不能尽到对家庭和孩子的责任。“作为父亲的我时常有一种愧疚感。”从沈小平的言语间,记者体会到的是七分韧劲儿、三分无奈。
一份耕耘一份收获,经过多年的拼搏,近年来沈小平的科研工作进展迅速,逐步走上了快速发展的轨道。针对当前出现的各种学术腐败问题,沈小平教授也有一番自己的观点。他常常告诫自己和学生:做学问要先做人,要树立求真务实的科学态度,自觉抵制各种学术的不端行为。
三尺讲台 传道授业不倦怠
在教育事业上,沈小平教授更体现了一名教师为培育莘莘学子的呕心沥血与任劳任怨。尽管身为一名教授博导,同时指导十多名研究生,研究任务十分繁重;同时沈小平教授作为民盟基层组织负责人和镇江市政协委员,经常需要参与一些社会事务。但他多年来一直坚持亲自给本科生上课,先后为本专业本科生和研究生开设五门课程。给大一学生讲授《无机化学》课程已有十多个年头,且每次上课都要重新备课,精心准备。为了提高教学质量,他坚持选用最优秀的教材,近几年曾先后三次更换《无机化学》教材,而不考虑给自己增加的备课负担。在本科教学中,沈小平教授从大一开始就注意培养学生的科研动手能力,选拔有兴趣的同学进课题组进行科研能力训练,尝试实现大学生科研实践四年不间断。目前已有多名参加训练的同学发表了学术论文。在做好教学工作的同时,沈小平教授也积极关心学生的成长,对于学生在考研、出国、找工作等方面需要的帮助总是有求必应。同时沈小平教授非常关心研究生的学习和生活,将自己的办公室作为研究生的工作室,多年来一直与研究生一起办公,以便随时进行交流和指导。
“做学问需要踏实,需要多年的默默付出。”基于这样的观念,沈小平教授在他的科研道路上踽踽独行,也在悄无声息中走向世界前沿,而这不正是作为一名学者的最高境界吗?
