沈锡辉,西北农林科技大学生命科学学院教授、博导,国家杰出青年科学基金获得者,入选国家“万人计划”、科技部中青年科技创新领军人才推进计划和陕西省特支计划,旱区作物逆境生物学国家重点实验室学术骨干,“农业与环境微生物学研究团队”学术带头人,西北农林科技大学“青年英才培养计划”首届入选者。
长期从事农业与环境微生物领域的前沿研究,在细菌六型分泌系统的离子转运与抗宿主天然免疫新功能研究、微生物-宿主-环境相互作用机制与调控研究、耐药菌防控新策略研究、污染物降解与生物修复、植物内共生微生物促作物抗旱抗逆机制研究等方面取得了比较突出的进展,以通讯作者在Nature Communications、PNAS、Cell Reports、PLoS Pathogens、mBio等国际著名期刊发表SCI论文50余篇。获授权专利6件。曾作为主要研究人员参加国家重大专项,973,863, 国家自然科学基金等项目的研究。 多次应邀在国际、国内学术会议做大会报告及分会场主旨报告。

1994年获西北农业大学(现西北农林科技大学)农学系农学专业,学士学位。
1994-09至1997-06,西北农业大学基础科学系生化专业,硕士学位。
2001-09至2005-07,中国科学院微生物研究所,微生物学博士学位。
2005-07至2008-06,美国普度大学生物科学系, 细胞微生物,博士后。
1997-07至2001-08,湖北省Bt研究开发中心 科研部, 助理研究员
2008-06至2010-06,中科院武汉病毒所病毒学国家重点实验室副研究员。
2010-07至现在,西北农林科技大学生命科学学院教授、博导。

研究方向:
主要从事农业与环境微生物学研究,在细菌六型分泌系统的功能研究及效应蛋白鉴定、细菌生物膜形成及运动性调控、植物内共生微生物组及其对农作物的促生抗旱功能研究、芳香化合物降解机制等方面取得了比较突出的成绩, 包括 1)首次发现细菌六型分泌系统的离子转运功能,率先报道了一类离子结合型T6SS效应蛋白在离子转运和细菌抗环境胁迫及宿主营养免疫中发挥重要作用;2)以谷氨酸棒杆菌为模型系统揭示了分枝硫醇在细菌抗多重环境胁迫中的多样化作用机制;3)发现细菌鞭毛三型分泌系统伴侣蛋白FliS通过与FlgM相互作用而抑制其分泌,进而影响细菌鞭毛系统基因表达调控,从而揭示了鞭毛系统基因表达的关闭机制。

农业与环境微生物团队
团队介绍
西北农林科技大学生命学院“农业与环境微生物”研究团队依托旱区作物逆境生物学国家重点实验室,瞄准微生物领域国际科技前沿,紧密围绕国家战略需求和区域发展需要,深入开展面向西部旱区农业生产实际的基础和应用基础研究,形成了一支学术氛围浓郁,规章制度完善,年龄梯度和知识结构合理的科研生力军。团队现有教授2人,副教授1人,讲师4人,博士后、研究生共40余人。
团队带头人沈锡辉教授为国家杰出青年科学基金获得者,入选国家“万人计划”、科技部中青年科技创新领军人才推进计划和陕西省特支计划。
沈锡辉教授在细菌六型分泌系统的离子转运与抗环境胁迫新功能、植物内共生微生物促作物抗旱抗逆机制、微生物-环境-宿主相互作用机制研究等方面取得了比较突出的进展,以通讯作者在Nature Communications、PNAS、Cell Reports等国际著名期刊发表SCI论文50余篇。研究成果“微生物主动运输新机制”被中国微生物学会推荐为2017年度“中国生命科学领域十大进展”唯一参评项目。在2017年国家杰出青年基金评选中,作为国家基金委生命科学部唯一来自西部的答辩人并成功入选,也是我校自2012年以来唯一的国家杰青入选者。

博士生司美茹以一作在PNAS,Cell Reports,Antioxidants & Redox Signaling等国际顶尖期刊发表多篇高水平SCI论文,其中一篇被Faculty of 1000推荐,被聘为曲阜师范大学生命学院副教授、硕士生导师。
博士生林金水以一作在Nature Communications(ESI高被引论文),Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology等发表SCI论文多篇,入选陕西高校首批“青年杰出人才”计划和陕西省 “特支计划”区域发展人才。
张伟鹏入选中国海洋大学“英才工程”和“优青培育计划”,被聘为教授、博士生导师。

青年教师张磊自加入团队以来发表SCI论文20余篇(含双一流A类文章1篇),主持国家自然科学基金2项,晋升为副教授、博士生导师。
青年教师徐磊来校后已发表SCI论文多篇,申请到国家自然科学基金青年项目、中国博士后特别资助、陕西省博士后特别资助、中国博士后面上资助(一等)和陕西省基础科学研究项目(青年)等多项资助,累计获批科研经费92万元,由其负责的科研项目已取得重要进展,有望冲击顶级期刊。

本科、硕士就读于西农,在中科院微生物所攻读微生物学博士,又在美国普度大学生物科学系作博士后,最终于2010年从武汉病毒所病毒学国家重点实验室回到母校。一路走来,沈锡辉始终在与微生物“打交道”,闯出了属于自己的一片天地。
“三年困难时期”
“当时学校正在实施人才强校战略,我又是陕西人,觉得学校微生物研究基础很好,回来发展前景广阔,于是就选择回到家乡、回到母校工作。”
万事开头难。刚回来,一切都要重新开始,当时无论是经费还是人员、实验室都比较紧张,而且前三年也没有文章产出,压力可想而知。当时和沈锡辉一起到校的张伟鹏硕士,暂时没有安排住宿,为了不耽误实验,就在实验室地上铺床坚持了一个多月。
“学校给的50万元科研启动经费能保障工作正常运转,但要想保证科研工作不断线,还要不断申请基金等项目。”沈锡辉说,幸运的是成功申请到了基金,又得到了学校一些支持计划、重点项目等的支持,这对当时正处于爬坡过坎阶段的沈锡辉来说,每一笔经费都是雪中送炭。
有了经费,还要有人。当时经常是招到合适的人了,对方突然说不来了,那么当年就没有博士生了,又得等一年。这种状况直到2017年以后才有所好转。
找准研究方向
来校后,沈锡辉经过认真思考,选择细菌六型分泌系统作为主要研究方向。细菌六型分泌系统在2006年才开始发现,沈锡辉算是进入这个领域比较早的。他告诉记者,无论是在动物肠道还是在植物根系都有很多微生物,因为营养、生长空间等有限,微生物之间也存在竞争,而且经常是你死我活。细菌六型分泌系统其实就是一种竞争的主要武器。有些细菌在肠道或根系的生存能力强,就是因为有这个比较强大的武器。所以就是想通过研究把这个武器的功能揭示出来,以后在工业、农业或者健康方面,通过合成生物学的手段来加以改造、利用。
目前沈锡辉团队围绕细菌六型分泌系统主要开展的是理论研究,为将来与学校作物、园艺、动科、动医等方面的交叉打下基础。比如肠道里有个病原菌侵染了,没法治疗,但如果找到另外一个菌或者改造一个菌,它有更强大的竞争力,就可以把坏的细菌消灭掉。作物上基本也是这个思路。
微生物菌群不仅有竞争,还有合作。沈锡辉研究的另外一方面,就是微生物之间存在怎样的“对话交流”,从而达到互相的平衡和谐。“‘和谈’不成就会启动‘战争’,像人与人之间一样。这种对话是否也会跨界,比如说细菌与真菌之间、甚至是细菌和它的宿主之间是如何对话的?这也是团队现在关注的一个研究方向。”沈锡辉表示。
打造知名团队
作为学校旱区作物逆境生物学与绿色生产学科群团队之一,沈锡辉团队有教授3名、副教授4名,讲师2名,博士研究生10余名,硕士研究生30余名,还有部分本科生参与,主要围绕微生物、分子生物学和生物化学开展工作。
沈锡辉对团队有着明确的目标,那就是把团队初步打造成微生物领域国内知名团队。按照这个目标,沈锡辉认为团队还需要进一步完善,重点是引进生物信息学、结构生物学方面人才,从而让团队学科结构更加完整,竞争力更强。
沈锡辉十分重视学科交叉。学校现有的植物保护、畜牧学两个一流学科,与团队微生物方向十分吻合。肠道微生物研究有助于和畜牧学学科结合,植物生防菌研究有助于揭示病原菌的防控机制,能和植物保护学科紧密结合。目前,团队有关动物肠道微生物的研究已在PNAS、NC等期刊发表多篇文章,植物保护方面目前已和黄丽丽教授团队展开合作。此外,和资环学院有关专家也开展了合作。“团队只有跟学校发展方向密切结合才能发展进步。学校微生物研究实力雄厚,希望齐心协力把学校微生物学科做大做强,为学校的学科发展作出我们积极的贡献。”沈锡辉说。
争取进入“国家队”
沈锡辉组建大团队时间不长,通过外部引进和内部吸收,招收了不少年轻人,团队整体比较年轻。他认为,年轻人有干劲、有闯劲,要好好爱护、培养,成为骨干力量。比如去年留在团队的两个年轻人都做得很好,其他几个年轻人也都很有发展潜力,要努力把他们培养成国家级青年人才。只有把年轻人培养起来,团队才能做大做强。
作为团队负责人,沈锡辉也思考谋划着团队未来,如何把这样一支年轻的队伍带好。“基础研究和应用研究一定要双轮驱动。下一步我们想在合成生物学方面有所作为。因为合成生物学主要依赖于微生物,目前已上升为国家战略,将来在农业生产应用等方面前景广阔。”沈锡辉介绍,目前已有直接把二氧化碳合成淀粉的技术,将来是不是也可以合成油、合成更多蛋白质?学校目前参加合成生物学重点专项的团队比较少,自己团队也只是参加了一些课题和子课题。
“我们希望将来能主持合成生物学方面的项目,从而把合成生物学广泛应用于农业生产。比如在动物肠道和植物根系方面怎样进行合成生物学改造,提高它的功能。方向选好了,我们研究的问题、开展的工作才会有科学价值,才能真正对国民经济和农业生产作出贡献,真正把文章写在大地上。”沈锡辉表示。
